When the sun disappears…

February 5, 2013

Winter in Iowa can be bleak.  A recent snow storm covered the ground with white powder.  It has been cold for a while so the creeks and lakes are frozen over.  The day I took these photos, clouds were everywhere – the sky was grey and the water was grey.

Color was banned from the state…

Where's the creek?

I hope spring comes soon!  🙂

Actually, I enjoyed the crisp air.  It smelled so clean and invigorating.  A quiet calm hung over the woods.  The wind chill was around zero and the woods were lonely.  For a few minutes I was lost in a grey dream… a beautiful grey dream.

A few days have been cold enough for a walk downtown!
    Nice photos.

Thanks!!! Those were great walks. Nothing like a winter stroll to get the blood flowing. 🙂

Thanks!! It has warmed up here… some days get to the 20s, some the 30s and a few days get to the awesome 40s. We hardly need a coat during the heat waves. 🙂 I just checked out your new blog. I look forward to more of your work.
